Description
Link was awakened by the sound of meat slapping the floor. He lazily opened one eye. 'What?' He asked sleepily, 'Where am I?''Same place you fell asleep last night.' Zelda's voice answered. Link jumped up now fully awake. He glanced behind and saw his brown tail wagging. 'Oh, right.' He thought as the memories of last night came flooding back to him. 'So, what are we gonna do?'
'You're going to eat; we have quite a bit of travelling to do today.' Zelda said, gesturing towards the meat in front of Link.
'But that's been on the floor! I can't eat it!' Link exclaimed.
'It's that or nothing. Stop being so picky.' Zelda was starting to get irritated. She walked to the steps. 'Are you coming or not?'
'Yeah, yeah. I'm coming.' Link said glaring at the meat as he left the room.
A few hours later Link and Zelda had reached Lake Hylia. The tranquillity of the scene was interrupted by Link's groans of pain. 'So… hungry… Need… food…' He thought as he crawled along behind Zelda.
'I told you to eat when you had the chance. Stop overreacting.'
'But it wasn't even cooked!' Link protested.
'Well, what am I meant to say? "Oh, Telma, you know Link? Yeah, he's been turned into a wolf. Can you cook some meat for him?"' Zelda asked sarcastically.
'I'm not even that hungry anyway…' Link grumbled. 'So, what is this plan of yours?' He thought as they neared Fyer's Cannon.
'Excuse me. I would like an oasis flight, please.' Zelda said to the pink shirt-wearing owner of the Canon ride in Lake Hylia. She had her hood up and a scarf around her mouth so her voice was muffled.
'Who told you about that?! I mean… I'm sorry but I don't know what you are talking about. We only do the standard flight to Falbi's shack here.'
'Let's try that again, shall we? One oasis flight, please.' The princess said, pressing a purple rupee into Fyer's hand.
'Ah!' Fyer's eyes grew wide as he stared in awe at the gem that was worth fifty rupees. 'I'm sorry but I do not except bribes.'
'I'll give you another fifty and two twenties.' Zelda said, rummaging in her purse for a pair of red rupees.
'150 and you can ride.' Fyer said with a gleam in his eye.
'120.' Zelda haggled.
'145 or nothing.'
'You must be mad! I'll give you 130 and that's my final offer.' Zelda bargained.
'Deal!' Fyer said, holding out his hand. Zelda handed him a silver, a red and a yellow rupee and Fyer walked to the side, allowing the princess entrance to the cannon. Zelda walked inside and just as Fyer was starting it up, Link dashed inside. The door clanged shut and the familiar music played, signalling the firing of the huge cannon.
'Ugh… I can't believe you did that kind of stuff everyday.' Zelda muttered as she and Link trudged through the Gerudo Desert. The heat was unbearable and Zelda had taken off her cloak and gloves.
'We should kind of almost a little bit be here by now.' Link thought to Zelda as he looked around.
'Right… So if we're almost here then why is Arbiter's Grounds over there?' Zelda asked, pointing to the huge prison, shimmering in the blistering heat.
'I knew that! I was just checking you did too!' Link thought as he followed after Zelda.
After climbing to the top of the ancient prison the duo stopped to rest. Night had fallen and there was a chill in the air.
'Hey, Link?'
'What?' Link turned to the princess.
'Midna shattered the mirror when she left, didn't she?'
'Yeah…' Link replied slowly.
'So why is the mirror fully intact now?' Zelda pointed to the Mirror of Twilight, which was just as she had said, in one piece and emitting the strange yet beautiful light that would warp a being to the Twilight Realm.
'So… What now?' Zelda turned to Link.
'I'm gonna go in, find Midna, sort this whole wolf thing out and come back.' Link thought, looking at the mirror determinedly.
'Alright, what if Midna doesn't know what to do?'
'Well, then we'll have a problem on our hands.' Link thought, jumping into the light. He felt his body dematerializing as he was transported to the world he thought he would never see again.
