Now that EFNW 2013 is over, I can finally upload this! This is the comic I created of the mascot, Front Page, for this year's conbook. I wanted to create a brief introduction to Page and her role in Equestria as a news pony, which was admittedly a bit of a challenge since I didn't design the character and had to more or less guess on her personality, motivations, etc. I wanted to indirectly tie her into the con without being blatant about it, since I feel that inserting a convention into the world of Equestria or pulling a pony into a city in our world doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Thus, her news story ideas involve characters played by the voice guests of honor (this was completed and approved before Tabitha St. Germain, the voice of Luna, needed to cancel due to illness and Andrea Libman was announced) and the convention logo is on her press badge! As far as her laptop goes, I actually would've opted for a typewriter, but there was concept art of Page using a laptop so I felt I would incorporate that despite my insecurity over the idea of technology in Equestria. It also helped a bit with composition and also prevented me from spending too much time drawing a typewriter... I had a bit of a time crunch!
