They both have boastful and arrogant personalities and are both obsessed with winning.
They're both the rivals of the main protagonists Roary and Lightning McQueen (in Cars 2) and often argue about who shall win the race.

I personally would love to see Maxi and Francesco Bernoulli meet each other.
