This is fan art set in Star Citizen, a sci-fi game that is in development. Most pin-ups I've seen done so far for the game are of the ships themselves (nerd porn). I however, paint the fairer sex so I tried to bridge the two here.

The girl is of no one in particular. I tried thinking of a back story or something but I'm not too creative.

Her outfit though... I've no idea what fashion looks like in the 30th century when the game takes place, and they have yet to add female characters to the game. So we're going to call this a retro look from the 27th century made famous by the now infamous racing queen, Azure Shinozaki, who rose to fame after a wardrobe malfunction wearing this very outfit during the winner's ceremony for the 14th running of the little known StarCup that left 3 people hospitalized, including 3rd place finisher, Sterling Bowman.

Some insights for the painting itself: To get the ship bits in there, I started this painting with a screenshot I took of the Constellation bridge. Then from there I broke it down into multiple layers so I could work with it. I then painted in the planet background to establish the main light source. Then I proceeded to paint over the geometry to establish the lighting in the ship, as well as clean up all the up-scaling/jpeg artifacts. Then I painted in the girl, extra props, special fx, etc.

Well, anywho, hope someone likes it! It was a fun exercise putting it together. Also, I know I normally don't write so much in my image descriptions, so my apologies to anyone who actually waded through my numerous grammatical errors and run-on sentences. (-:
