Ooh, this is gorgeous, and really does personify the relationship of a human to her daemon. I love the lighting on the hands and the sparkles around her eyes.

Phillip Pullman's stories just evoke images.. i love the part in Northern LIghts where Lyra says the butterfly was the most beautiful daemon she's ever seen .. i think the butterfly here is definitely one of the most exquisite ones i've came across
and the whole mood of the painting fits in perfectly ...great job
