Over the last (forgotten how long) number of months I've been using the Old Masters technique of tracing dots to transfer my intial sketch/cartoon to canvas. That is, I've stuck holes through the full sized cartoon, brushed chalk in and then joined up the dots --- just like Leonardo! (not the ninja turtle .... )

Anyhow, this time I drew it out using the "grid method" as an aid to freehand proportion. Needed a change in working practises.

Next stage will be to paint it up in a dull, neutral green monochrome as an underpainting.
