Gradient shading go brrrr

Personally, I like this type of shading, and I'll probably be doing it more often.

Also here's a quick story about how she got here, enjoy!

Long story short, Rune wanted a change of scenery for Fresh Season, so she decided to fly out to one of the many Seafoam Islands. At the airport, while waiting for her flight, she was approached by a couple of older Inklings. Rune was startled, but her fear quickly vanished when she recognized the two as higher-ups for the Z+F brand, with whom she had done collabs with in the past. Taking her to a more isolated room, one of the Inklings pulled a clothing item out of his bag, resembling being a pair of baggy pink and purple sweatpants. They had told her this particular pair had a prototype safety mechanism installed. Not much was known about it, even the older two inklings didn't know what it did or how it would work. With this being said, Rune was offered to test out this new mechanism sometime during her vacation, while also seeing how well pants fit and how comfortable they were. Rune accepted without missing a beat, and went off to a bathroom to change. Not long after, she returned, clad in the pink and purple attire.
Nothing really eventful really happened until Rune's plane was on it's final decent towards the Seafoam Islands. While trying to find the bathroom, the plane was hit by sudden turbulence, causing the young Inkling girl to lose her balance. Instinctively, she reached out to grab onto something to stabilize herself. Good news, she found something to grab. Bad news, that "something" happened to be a door handle. Unbeknownst to Rune, this door handle was connected to the airplane's external hatch. The handle was pulled down, the hatch opened, and Rune went flying. Screaming, she free-fell towards the ocean below, as some passengers looked on in horror. As the sea grew closer and closer, Rune had an idea. She figured now, of all times, would be a good time to activate her pants' mysterious safety mechanism. In retrospect, this was super risky, but there was no other option at the time. Rune found a rip-cord on her pants and gave it a yank, squeezed her eyes shut, and braced for impact.

...
...but that impact never came.
"Wait...I'm not dead?!" Was all Rune could say as she opened her eyes. Looking down, she saw why she hadn't hit the water. Her pants had inflated tremendously, creating somewhat of a makeshift life-raft for the young Inkling. Under normal circumstances, Rune would be giddy about the fact that her pants had at least quadrupled in size, but now, she could only just sit in pure shock. Getting over her initial shock, she looked around, and happened to spot the Island her plane was about to land at! And not only that, due to an enormous stroke of luck, she had landed in a current which had her drift straight towards the Island! With her shock long gone, Rune sank into her inflated pants as she began the somewhat lengthy drift towards the Island.

"What a way to start a vacation..."
