The silent sentry sat in his dark corner, watching the assassins move towards the center of the Old City. The rain was coming down hard, but the sounds of a battle this fierce would not be drown out by it. Surely the landscape of power would change this night, as a group of assassins this large could only be meant for one purpose, the eradication of one of the ruling houses. When the sentry turned the corner, he was unprepared for the sight before him. Where he expected to see a large group battle, there stood a lone warrior. Surrounded and completely enraged, with the mindset of killing any who would face her. He had never seen men being killed by a single blow, or the kind of impossibly fast counterattacks being reflexively enacted. If they we're close enough to strike her proper, they we're too close to survive her assault. The attackers would come on, and fall, and then still more would come. Every wave of new oncoming threats, driving her further into the rage. They could not slow her down or hope to stop her. She was Attarra, the former champion of the arena, the scarred princess. No fighter has even been better trained than her. Years of tutelage under warmasters brought in from all over the land. His concentration goes back to the fight, drawn in by one last awful sound, the primal scream of Attarra as she crushes the life out from the last assassin with her bare hands. After that, all the sentry can hear is the rain. She stands triumphant again, arms outstretched towards the sky, the pose of victory. The Sentry leaves quickly and silently to report what he has seen. The powers that be would want know of this attack. He disappears into the rain, and fails to see the great warrior lower her arms, stumble away from the carnage, and collapse in the darkness.
