My design/take on Fred.
Fred's the guy to go if you have any questions about traps. Not just traps, he's an expert on all things that are a part of traps, like ropes and nets.
Traps aren't his only passion, as he very much loves his van and his friends.
He's very much the dad friend of Mystery Inc, which is part of why he's unofficially the leader. The other part is him taking the intitative to say "Let's split up and look for clues!".
People often assume he and Daphne are a couple, but they're not, both are just incredibly oblivious to how obvious their feelings about each other are to others.
"Gee Daph, you have eyes like Elizabeth Taylor."
"Thanks Freddy!"
