Description This is a card I did several months ago for TOPPS' new Indiana Jones card set.

It's not the card I had intended to do, as I was working with a damaged hand (which slowed me down) and their was a miscommunication about the deadline. My original idea had Indy and Theresa walking through the Norse ruins like they are here, but there were skeletons and skulls, and a background.

When I ran out of time, I took my stufy from my sketchbook, scanned it, and colored it; much like how I did the Rogue litho.

I felt that the final was kind of dull, with nothing of interest going on around their legs & feet (all those missing skulls and skeletons), so I cropped in and made the art look like a frame from one of the movies. I'll post that next...

BTW, since I assumed everyone else in the set would be doing moments from the films, I picked as my subject a scene from Dark Horse Comics' INDIANA JONES ADVENTURES, VOL. I, a digest that came out in May of this year. A great little Indy comic that feels very much like the films, especially RAIDERS. Check it out; it's well-written & drawn.

Great work, Mr. Hughes- I love how realistic your humans look; awesome take on Indy. The falling snow and lack of a visible background gives this a nice abstract-esque look as well

Oh, man- I'm a huge Indiana Jones fan, and a story with some Norse elements would be right up my alley (I'm a nut for Norse mythology, too)

This shot was based on an Indiana Jones comic from Dark Horse Comics, with lots of Norse elements.

It's INDIANA JONES ADVENTURES, Vol. 1. It's in digest form, not a true comic format. Meaning, it's slightly smaller, and bound like a magazine. Vol 2. came out, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the first (it had a different writer).
But the artist is consitent, and he's here on DA!

Cool- I'm not complainin' about digest form; I used to buy those Archie Comics at the store, but they're just as good. Thanks again, Mr. Hughes- I'll definitely keep an eye out for both

Hey, this guy's got an awesome style- I've got to put him on my Watchlist now

You mentioned you think there wasnt much happening here. But I always enjoyed the bits in these films where Indy is exploring the passageways between rooms. I like the feel of this piece a lot!!

This is some great work... If you look at this work you can see how well you have drawn the faces, and... All the rest
If you look too long at it, you notice the skull. It changes the whole picture... Amazing

I think I heared your name somewhere... Are you a known artist or so? By your work I could only say yes..

I think the sketchy bit gives some natural feel to the composition. But It will be great to see your original idea, at least as a concept or sketch
