Description
Here's the final version of that card. Not a masterpiece, but fun. And I thought it was one of my better Harrison Ford likenesses... It takes place in 1930, so I was trying to draw a 31 year-old Indy. This scene is from Dark Horse Comics' digest INDIANA JONES ADVENTURES, VOL. I (May, 2008). I figured everyone was going to draw scenes from the movies, I decided to take a different tack. The girl in the image is English, not Swedish; she's an archeologist (or archaeologist, as the Brits would write it) from the British Museum.
Read the comic; it's a damn good Indy yarn!

I think it's amazing that this looks like it could translate into a real life movie still! @3@ Very gorgeous coloring as well - it's amazing how you make the lines more like tones

Maybe this is a stupid question that is Frequently Asked, but what sort of reference do you use for these?

great piece Adam....really awesome. I love the fact that the likenesses feel right...but it's got a nice feeling of not being overly referenced....kinda playful, cute and cartoony...but with all the 'realism' you'd want in something like this.
great colors too!

I sometimes wonder if I should be inspired by your ability to capture an image or depressed by your ability to capture an image... It's work like this that reminds me of just how far I have to go just to sharpen your pencils....
As always, AMAZING work, you are one of my favorite artists bar none.

This really is a great likeness of Indi, perhaps one of your best. The lovely lass is quite stunning as well, and the light and shadows at play work with the piece tremendously. I like this honestly much better than your puzzle piece, which I know suffered from rust and pain. It has my appreciation for that.
I have to say, I've been a fan of your work for more years than I want to mention, and it's just great to be able to actually say that to you directly. Put our art up in the same places. (You can laugh, it's okay.) Thanks for putting pencil to paper, you've furthered some of us along.

I'll have to agree with everyone- wonderful colors over an already solid pencil drawing (I love that you can still feel the linework underneath. It is a very good Indy likeness!
Ha ha, this could almost pass for a happy holidays card, what with the snow, the overall golden atmosphere and the christmas skull in the back...
Ok, maybe not the christmas skull.

Dude I keep coming back and looking at this. It's really awesome. The lighting is so great and I love the simple coloring over the always great pencil work. You draw the loveliest ladies and Indy there is looking mighty fine.

You nailed the younger Ford likeness, not surprisingly. He even has a certain nervousness about him that an older more seasoned Indy might not. Dang, I'd like to get to know that Swedish snow bunny better! Everything about this rocks. Great to have you back in action!

I'm not familiar with the official Indiana Jones timeline, but with that said, it always seemed possible (to me) that Indiana Jones could have teamed up with detective Charlie Chan and gone on a caper together.
If the Charlie Chan character was ever revised, I think it would be great if he was played by Sammo Hung (or at least have his likeness used).
I know of no books, or comics of "Indiana Jones Meets Charlie Chan", but I think the 2 characters would be a great adventure and mystery.

What is that between them? It's a little weird that they both only have one arm, though she's more excusable because of the fingers on his shoulder.
Right on impression, though. Good stuff.

I like this a lot. Although I have one question; is that Indy's arm in-between himself and the girl? Is it supposed to be uncolored? Just curious if I was making something out of random lines. Anyway, great work!

No no, haha, not the large white thing. Right above that, there's what looks like a sleeve outline and maybe a cuff, like he was reaching around to help her along. Doesn't really matter though.

OH I see it now. Had to read the word "cuff" to get the right perspective. Baha.
