With my messed-up hand, all I can do right now is color., So, I started tarting up the DC Women poster.************************
WOW. Lotta comments on this one. As for the requests to 'tart up' the rest of the poster.... that's the eventual plan.

Your understanding of color, volume, shape and then to be able to render it with a mouse is insane!

I don't know if it's the pixelization or not but I would suggest maintaining that slight smile from the original. Just a tweak on the corner of her mouth. The original gives the idea that she has something playful in mind. The redux has her looking introspective and dare I say, a bit sad.
I never get tired by how such tiny details can have such an impact. Case in point, a piece of artwork you did for Tim Townsend showed tremendous shiny detail in Batman's cape (who was with Hellboy). That was extraordinary to do and, according to Tim, with no reference as well.
Otherwise, what isn't to love about your skills to make the figures pop out even more.

Well I unlike Rubi have to say it's not the tools it's the artist. And I wish to God I could get a poster of this rather amped up version now. It has more depth and character just from Selina's variation on it. I like the little nuances that you added too with the jewelry. I do agree, painter gives you a lot of cool options (I'm wishing to get it eventually) But you're back to using your hand in a manner that's going to hurt it and possibly worsen your situation. So I pray that your hand gets better Adam. Seriously. You're one of probably 12 artists that I look up to (16 if you include a few that have passed away fairly recently).
I'm still amazed at what you can do... you're still using a mouse correct?
Get better man and wonderful job on this one. I love the feel to the new version a lot more. That's just me tho.

But you know you should not stick painting just with color ... its still alot flat .. becomes always flat ...
Unless you separate the color from volume process ... either in the midle or the end of it ...
You know grayscale flemish painting tecnique ...
No .. well...
Lets say that ..
You just do color work ...
The more good you could be in color rendering ...
Unless you separate the processes you will not get the flawless 3d volume like ... [link]
Newbies dont see... but a professional in neoclassic traditional oil ... will laught.
Also you just paint with photoshop isnt ...
To in digital achieve the exact colorizing after "grissaile" paint retouch ... only painter x does that with colorize ...

I think your works are a lil flatand need a lil more The Deepness values of the 3d illusion that yu can achieve just painting in black & withe then overlayering over the black and withe color layers ...
Anyway i'm talking about The Granov Tecnique -Β» [link] and also targette one ... [link] ( be sure to see those dvds one day yu want to reach that ) and offcourse that WOuld be lot better used if one layout Lineart Below [link] for more defenition on the result .. targete doesnt do much of that so their works get blury .. not like Granov ... But targete can layout colors above " a hell lot better" than the granov tecnique ..
And the secret of that how tocomes from the flemish [link] traditional oil tecniques -Β» yu see here [link] the steps - were the trick is on the defenition of the deathlayer ... then the way yu overlay color is everything ...
Well tecnical nonsenses..
For someone with a cintiq do it intuitively ...
