I particularly like the sweep of the crops in the foreground.. This would be magic in b&w also I imagine.

This was shot with my Pentax K-7 and the DA 18-55 WR kit lens. It's a fantastic camera.
HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. There a numerous ways to explain it, and methods of achieving it, but essentially it is using different exposure levels in one photo to get a wider range of lighting. That could be from different exposures of the same scene, or different conversions of a RAW file. You can find some more info at [link] . Some examples; [link] , [link] , [link] , [link] .
