A crappy, grayscale-scanned version of a piece I contributed to a benefit book for the comic-artist charity ACTOR ( A Commitment To Our Roots, though the name might've changed). My original version wouldn't come up on DA, either because it's a TIF or because it's from a bitmap scan.

Anyhoo, the piece features characters from EMPOWERED, my (deep breath) "sexy superhero comedy" due out from Dark Horse Comics on March 7th as a 6" X 9", 248-page B&W "Grrraphic Novel."

Yep, as it turns out, title superheroine "Empowered" does indeed have some body-image insecurities... while also, quite obviously, having what most sane humans would perceive as a great body. What can I say, folks, such things (and seemingly deranged self-perceptions) actually happen in real life, from time to time...

The piece itself was a "inking test" for an experimental medium: namely, Sharpies! Wheee! Yep, it's "inked" (well, "markered") entirely with Fine and Extra-Fine Sharpies. EMPOWERED vol. 2 has a few super-high-contrast stories featuring moody shadows and edgelighting and chiaroscuro and whatnot, so I wanted to try a "quick and dirty" means of rendering such a setting... Cue the Sharpies!
