Description
The final version of a card illustration I did for Upper Deck, featuring Marvel's jungle-chica character Shanna ("the She-Devil," if I recall correctly). Line art by me, colors by Guru eFX (who also colored LIVEWIRES and IRON MAN: HYPERVELOCITY, by the way).

Actually, this isn't QUITE the final version... For the actual card, the red blood we see here was shifted to black, as one cannot normally show crimson-hued blood in a Marvel project. (Presumably, there are exceptions to this rule...)

Not quite sure why this piece in particular has come under "snark attack" for Shanna's lack of nasal-bridge indication... I've been drawing my characters' noses with "MNI" (Minimal Nasal Indication) for about eight years, now; the overwhelming majority of pieces in my DA gallery use "MNI" as well. Oddly enough, I stumbled across the approach on my own, back circa 2000, and only afterward noticed how many mangaka (most obviously Masakazu Katsura) and anime chara designers were already using the technique. What can I say? I like it.
