The fact that this day also happens to share a date with an (arguably much, much more important) day does not make it "insulting" at all.
Today is also National Pig Day (US) and Beer Day (Iceland); should we call these holidays insulting as well?
I think there is room on the internet for more than one Day. In fact, you'd do Self - Injury Awareness Day a favor by taking advantage of the fact that a large internet audience is already "celebrating" something else today. Throwing around your contempt is hardly doing anyone any favors.
With all of that said, thank you for making those of us aware. Self injury (especially among teens) often goes completely overlooked. /:

I love the show. And this art is cute. But i am in no way, a Brony, or a Pegasister.
Why would i shrug it off, when everyone is flaunting this day, and not paying any attention to something SERIOUS, and REAL? People die from self harm. People make fun of Self harm. Today is a day of awareness, a day for people to SIT DOWN and know that this is HAPPENING AROUND THEM. I'm a self harmer, so this is literally insulting.
