This is a contest entry for , character not owned by me. I was planning to make an animation but rather made a painting. ^^

Mika carefully lifted his head, the crisp breeze ruffled his blue coat and snow whisked around him. The job had been done. He had killed each and every one of them. It was over. He felt guilt stir inside of him, weighing him down, yet felt relieved. He had been ordered to kill multiple times, it seemed to get easier every time he was assigned the duty to put down lives. I should get going... he thought to himself, slowly getting up , the salty taste of blood still fresh in his mouth.

"No...What happened?! Where's dad?! W-why? Mika! Why?! What's going on!" Mika blinked and turned around, he blinked, to his alarm the young Radies was here.

"Yami...What are you doing here...?" He said, dismayed to the core, but keeping a calm composure. "You should be with your mother in this weather."

"What's happening? What did you do to them?! Why..." A single tear slid down Yami's cheek, he trembled from head to tail, sobbing lightly.

"It was my duty."

"So...You-you...You murdered them! How could you?!" Yami's words trailed off into more muffled sobs.

"As a Night Cougar it is my duty to protect the Radies and and Tribal Clans. I had to do it. For the well being of the others."

"What did they ever do?! How is this protecting anyone?! You just...killed...them," the grey furred Radies squeaked, eyes pained with betrayal and sorrow.

"Yami..." Mika wrapped his tail around Yami, his gaze softening. "Sometimes it is better to sacrifice a few for the sake of saving more lives."

"No...Your no protector! Traitor! Traitor!" Yami retorted, more tears building up in his eyes.

I bet your confused. My idea with this project is to create a scene in which Mika was ordered to kill a group of cats (including Yami's father) because they were a threat of some sort (you can decided how). In order to save more lives Mika had to kill cats with the 'threat'. A dark reality that Yami couldn't handle.
