Description
A whisper left the hidden outline of Edan’s lips, as the ghostly figure strode by. His snake eyes darting, seeking his next victim with cat-like precision, venomous smile playing on the sunken skull face. An unmistakable air of elegance gave the man an eerie presence, one that could make you trust Adder against your will.Edan watched the man transcend into trepidation, a haunting question resonated in the shadowy caverns of his mind. Slowly slaughtering the innocent, and torturing those who discovered his gory lair. A myriad of victims hung by a bared window, some missing limbs and hung by their necks. Some missing heads and hanging by ankles as crimson memories of a life extinguished fell to the floor to create a maniacal mirror for the corpses.
In the corner of the small dungeon there lay a dying man, a pile of “unnecessary” limbs in a sickening display below a pilfered examination table. An icy scream escaped bloody, blue lips as the twisted mind of the murderer reached him before the bony hands did. An unsheathing of a scythe, and a final dull thud...
“Another trophy for the wall…”
A grim smile opened onto the deranged man’s face, more like a skull than ever in the flickering tallow light of a single flame.

Daylight broke the uneasy sleep of the hidden man. The overwhelming stench of rot hung in the dank air as he looked around the dim room, a single shaft of sunlight illuminating the cold stone floor. Peeking out from behind the slimy barrel that had been his haven he saw that there was no trace of the cloaked maniac that had been his only companion late into the night, secretly of course, but still the only warm body in a hundred foot radius.
Getting up Edan attempted to dust off his wrinkled pants, dirty and bloody from the two nights he had spent watching nightmarish events take place in front of his own yellowed and bloodshot eyes, older now with the horrors of the past twenty-four hours imprinted into his mind. Finding that cleaning him self off was not an option he turned and quickly fled up the slick stairs to freedom.
Looking about the ravaged man shrieked in revulsion as the reality of a desolate world swooped down upon his mind like a bayonet gouging out the details of his life’s happiness. Anything alive was no more. The once azure sky was a deadened grey; flourishing trees were now black prayers offering themselves to the heavens. Thriving neighborhoods now solemn and silent save for the echoes of deranged footsteps belonging to the insane that the man could not find.
Running to a building, abandoned now, free of angry tenants and noisy children the apartments themselves looked dead. Breaking down the wood-blocked door the man found himself in the midst of piles of dust and creaky old Victorian-era furniture. Faded oil paintings had sad expressions as their milky eyes followed him as he spun about under the crystal chandelier, daring him to stand under its swinging path a moment longer.
Finding a large, grime covered window he wiped away the centuries of filth that had accumulated in only a few days’ time. Flicking from his hand a labyrinth of iridescent spider webs he peered outside and screamed as the bayonet entered Edan’s mind for the second time.
Outside the fragile window there lie a flawless summer day. Emerald grass was soft under the feet of many children as they squealed in delight, playing in a utopia of joy without fear in their hearts or caution in their minds. The whereabouts of the nefarious killer was either unknown or of no concern to the rosy faces and tinkling bell laughs.
Writhing in pain Edan bolted towards the warped wood door, stumbling in a daze as the frame seemed to loom larger, but not get any closer. Finally slipping out of the abandoned home he ran to join in the merriment and end the terror of his solitude. For he knew that the cold blooded man who held his torture chamber closer to his heart than any life, was near.
* * *
Jolting from a sudden and unexpected shock of searing pain the man bolted upright and took in his surroundings. A chilling wind blew with a haunting promise laced in with the terrifying howling. Never before had such a depressing, yet beautiful world been presented to the man, an itch to explore thrust him into the colorless fiction that was now his world. A sense of dreaming came over the man, not knowing if life was truly the state in which he existed. For death had to be more inviting than the vapid subsistence, it was certainly more closing. Endless days of solitude made the days, weeks, and months …years? Fly by with an inhuman measured pace, the pain subsiding for a few hours only to open to red hot throbbing later.
Sleeping became the only colorful relief to Edan’s detrimental search for the hellish creature that became his master. Adder pushing his way into the man’s mind, a single twisted motion at a time. Edan continuing on his striving journey through the abandoned country, finding naught, but being stalked always by the memories of dread that followed him like the liquid ruby eyes of Adder did.
* * *
After an eternity the fleeting inky cloak disappeared behind a small, non-descript building. Running ahead, tearing at the invisible arms that held him back, cursing the breeze’s laughter as it blew Eden’s shaggy hair into his eyes, blinding him as he searched in vain for the direction of Adder. Wheeling around an empty courtyard Eden screamed as Adder entered his mind, not sparing any feeling, not letting Eden pretend he didn’t know what happened to his family.
Fighting back Eden charged at Adder. All anger in his heart burst forth, all hatred in his mind tore at the limits of his physical being. A tempestuous, if not controlled Adder stood inside a sphere of guarded sky. Edan had all inabilities when he came to clash with the solid body, already handicapped by the fiery pain in his skull Eden fell. A single word escaped the thin, parted lips, tight to Adder’s face in smirk.
“Done?”
* * *
Dragging Eden back through his journey to find him, Adder not only made him feel it physically, but emotionally as well. Smoky clouds soared across the ancient heavens, dulled stars shone with a melancholy song for the moon. Fear evaporated, and then bloomed with greater vigor than ever before. Blood flowed scarlet, and then dried to a shadowy black. Every diminutive pain Edan had ever felt was magnified tenfold, all happiness drained.
* * *
Arriving at the chamber of horrors once more Edan clawed at his shackles pleading with Adder, begging for freedom. A skull smile met Edan’s indigo eyes, staying silent until his victim was a weeping mess of tears and mucus in the gray dirt of the street.
“Done?”
Crying out in sheer desperation Edan called on every god he ever knew of for their intervention. Calling for his family’s forgiveness he gazed into the eyes of their murderer…and gave up his fight.
* * *
As before, there was a chilly, dank stone room. Rows of hanging bodies creating a perverse wind chime across the only window. In the corner there was the bloodstained medical examination table, a body on top, a pile of flesh and bone beneath. The monster entered through a small opening in the wall, fluid in his motions, tranquil with his actions. Adder unsheathed the scythe, and with a final dull thud Edan’s life was ended.

I know english very good but I have to admit that it was difficult for me to read this... you use some words that I don't know (the kind of words used in books and not in the spoken language)... it's cool but it shows me that I have to learn more
I like the story... it's interesting
p.s. I'm in love with vampires too
