“What’s going on, Iyumi?” asked Yoko, looking up from her phone as her colleague marched in front of the Japan Airlines check-in desk where she was seated.
Iyumi was prodding forward a young man whose bored eyes were raised heavenwards as if at the absurdity of the situation, but who had his wrists tied together tightly behind his back.
“This gentleman thought it was funny to try and tell me and my supervisor that I had planted the several ounces of cannabis - way more than for personal use - that I had found in his case!” the JAL check in officer explained angrily to her colleague.
“Ooh, naughty!” responded Yoko. “He could have got you fired!”
“Too right!” nodded the other woman and pushed her dawdling captive firmly in the back to hurry him along. “Luckily Mrs Nishimura believed me and instructed me to take the reprobate into custody. So I took great delight in tying him up in front of all his smirking friends!”
“Good for you!” replied Yoko admiringly. “Mind if I take a pic for my social media? I can call it ‘Iyumi and the Smart Alec’!”
“Feel free.” replied Iyumi as her friend snapped away. The young man looked decidedly unimpressed. “I want to ring the American Embassy, you witches!” he declared.
“Not until I have deposited you with the Tokyo Airport police, you can’t!” the woman told her prisoner firmly.
