Description
" Love has no bounds. No matter who you are or where you are, I'll still love you the same. "For Pride Month, I chose the color orange for healing. I tried to get as much orange in as I could ack. Also, an animation made this take waaay longer than expected but I'm happy with it. Hopefully it doesn't hang up.
Inspired by szin's animatic here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GrV4-β¦
It's amazing and beautiful. You should watch it hehe
Hope you guys have a nice day
I'm open to any comments, suggestion or feedback !

Hi! I'm with ProjectComment and I'll be reviewing your piece.
This looks awesome! I think the meaning behind it is great, and the warm colors definitely give it a homey feel. I really like the animations in it. They give the piece a type of life and appeal a static picture can't make. They're fluid and do nothing to disrupt the photo. I love the simplicity of the piece. I really like how the colors add to their story and the string between them. It's a really cool idea that I really like.
The only thing that drew my attention right away was the redhead's left hand. It's bent a little too far back and looks unnatural. It looks like her wrist is broken, which is the only way to get a hand to bend that way. The hand would be drawn from the side, and I know it is hard to draw, so searching up some references on Google Images can really help.
I think this is an overall beautiful piece and it just makes me happy to look at it. Continue to make fine pieces of art like this. It truly is beautiful

Ohh thank you so much for the critique! I actually did use a reference for the hand where it was bent back but I guess I still have to work on that.

Hello, I'm commenting for .
Let me tell you that I immediately fell in love with this piece! The colors are beautiful and warm, they convey a warm, fuzzy feeling. At the same time, these brown-orange hues make it look a bit like an old photography, which makes me feel a bit nostalgic.
I also like how you created contrast between the two halves, even with the limited color palette. Not only are there different times of day in each half, but the girls' looks are also quite contrasting, one with freckled light skin, straight red hair, cat eyes and highly feminine clothing, while the other has brown skin, curly dark hair, doe eyes and more practical attire. It all highlights the physical seperation. At the same time, the girls' expressions show their closeness. I love how they gaze at each other, you can clearly feel their affection for each other. I feel that there is a tiny hint of sadness/insecurity, but most of all, they seem just happy to talk to each other, even if it's just on the phone. The red string is also a great symbol of their deep bond.
When it comes to technique, I think you created something almost perfect. The animation is very fluid and, despite its simplicity, breathes life into the picture. The girls' poses look natural and the overall anatomy is great. There are only some minor things that could be improved here: I feel like the way the redhead's left hand is angled looks a bit twisted. I think the wrist bends a bit too sharply. I also feel that the dark-haired girl's right hand is a bit off. I think it looks a bit like an extension of her arm. Making her wrist a bit more narrow might help to improve the transition.
Finally, I think that the theme ("healing") isn't very obvious on first glance. It's not like it isn't there, because being apart can be interpreted as a wound and keeping in touch as a process of healing, but it's pretty subtle and takes a bit of thought to see it. If you wanted to make it more obvious, you might add some signs of past hurt and/or healing, for example some patches on the girls or some sad photographs in the background. That being said, it's completely fine to be subtle about it and these suggestions are just in case you felt it should be more obvious. Personally, I feel that fictional LGBT characters are often put through unnecessary suffering, so it always makes me happy to see a couple like this in a happy relationship with only mild hardships.
Overall, you created a gorgeous piece of art with barely a flaw. Keep up the great work!

Oh, I made the illustration on photoshop but I separated the eyes from the entire piece so I could move them easily into different frames. (Does that make sense idk haha)Β

found this on deviantart FB and I thought I'd put this one in my favorite. Just because I like cute lesbians.
Doesn't have anything to do with PRIDE. Sorry.

Nah it's alright, no need to apologize. Recently I've been thinking too if this had anything to do with Pride... I guess I just really like the idea of drawing this.Β
Thank you tho! I had no idea it was on the deviantArt FB page until you told me tbh

I know this is a late response, but could you possibly make another one with the same couple, only with "hotter" action? Of course just ignore this if you don't wanna. I just wanna get this all out of my chest.
Also, I ate a stupid amount of candies last night that the sugar rush kicked in.

So one thing I love about this is the coloring. Your coloring, as always, is so soft, and it because of that it gave a light feeling to it. The colors, which is generally orange, complimented that lightness and gave it a warmness to the picture. The flow of the hair, and the pose are very natural, and I love how you made the eyes look at each other, but showed that they arenβt in the same place through the clocks and the sky. Β I love how they are blinking, it adds life to the piece.
But, the thing about making this look like theyβre in different places would be the people and the atmosphere with them. Because from what I can see from this the only think separating them boldy, is the line in the middle. I agree with the previous comment, they look like they are in the same place. Not only that, but I guess despite the sky and the clock, it still looks like the time in both are similar. Even if I see the slight difference in the light between the two. Maybe if to the other girl its morning, maybe a kind of a bluish overlay can give that feeling of a morning, without completely removing the orange. [Just find the right layer setting] Or, shift the lighting, if the other one has a noon setting then it has a stronger light, so use darker shades of orange, etc, etc. And lastly probably add more life to the background, like maybe a few pictures hanging on the wall sufff like that just to show that someone has been living there for a while.
Also, your anatomyβs improving I guess, just a few mishaps on like the arms and hands but thatβs about it.
DESPITE THAT, this picture is gorgeous, itβs amazing, and it can give someone the fuzzies. Your coloring is perfect, and the animation is so smooth. The thing I love the most about this is the string. The tiny detail shows they are meant to be. To some itβs just a red string of fate, but to me youβre showing love between two girls, and made it seem like a natural thing. Because that string of fate is determined before birth, and you showed pride, right there. [please tell me you understood what Iβm getting at, cause Iβm bad at explaining]
Hope I helped!
