Description
The EORSN Glorious is the oldest starship that is in service. The Glorious has been around for about 500 years and is the first ship in the Empire Of Rebecc’s Space Navy. The Glorious wasn’t actually built by the EOR, it was designed and partially built by The Embassy, which was the major faction on Rebecc. When The Embassy imploded due to a economical crisis and the resulting chaos screwed everything up for everyone. The Glorious (known as the ESN Star Seer during construction) was halfway built when the economy flew into a woodchipper, the workers were no longer being paid so they all left and forgot about the Glorious, leaving it in a hanger for 10 years. Shortly after the EOR was formed, one of the politicians suggested that a space navy was needed due to the raiders who often entered Rebecc’s orbit and messed stuff up. The planetary defense guns were being fixed up around this time, but it would take a year to fully repair them, so the EORSN was formed and the government ordered for the Glorious’s construction to be completed. The EORSN Glorious was finally completed and flew her maiden voyage in ASC 2323. The Glorious quickly became beloved by the public and was the face of the EORSN. As more starships were built, the nearby Raiders saw the EOR’s ships as a threat and decided to attack and hopefully destroy the 3 completed ships (EORSN Glorious, EORSN Embassy, and EORSN Vlaia.) and the ships still being built. The raiders attacked in the early morning, moving fast and opening fire on the EORSN Glorious and EORSN Vlaia. Vlaia was heavily damaged and had to retreat or face certain destruction, but the Glorious fought on. The Glorious fought for 10 hours, empty shell casings littered the gun decks, the engine room was almost uninhabitable due to the extreme heat of the Glorious’s boilers, and the helmsman had to be replaced as his hands were bleeding and bruised from having to turn the ships wheel so many times to avoid enemy fire. After 10 hours, the raiders retreated, their remaining ships burning and damaged, the Glorious had successfully held them off and gave time for the badly damaged Vlaia to limp away and warn the EOR. The story of The Glorious holding back the raiders spread quickly and made the Glorious even more popular. Eventually, the Glorious retired and landed in a special dock in the capital city, her sister ship, Vlaia, in the dock right next to Glorious. 500 years later, Vlaia and Glorious found themselves in combat once again. The UG (United Galaxy (note, they are not made of several different nations like the UN is, they just call themselves United Galaxy because narcissism)) and EOR had been at war for 8 years at this point and the UG had managed to reach the capital planet of Rebecc and were trying to invade. The EOR forces on Rebecc were in dire straits, the EORSN’s many fleets were on the way but were unable to get to Rebecc quickly enough because of the UG blockade. The planetary defense guns were working around the clock, but every day more and more ammo ran out, and defense guns were starting to deactivate due to the intense strain of firing every day for weeks. The EORSN was desperate and eventually mobilized the Parade Fleet. The EOR’s Parade Fleet is made up of old and outdated ships or ships who are barred from combat due to disobeying orders and stuff, the Parade Fleet is only used in combat as a last resort. The Glorious and Vlaia weren’t technically part of the Parade Fleet, but the Glorious’s AI was insistent that the Glorious would fight again. The Glorious and Vlai launched from their docks for the first time in 500 years as massive crowd cheered and waved as the Glorious and Vlaia sounded their horns, hoisted the EOR Flag, fired up their engines as smoke billowed out of the smokestacks, and began their journey to join the Parade Fleet. 9 days later, the Glorious and Vlaia led the Parade Fleet as they attacked the IG ships in hold of breaking the blockade. After a fierce battle and against all odds, the Parade Fleet was victorious and the UG blockade was destroyed as the outside EORSN Fleet’s started to arrive and join the fight. The Glorious had managed to take down the UG command ship with a well placed shell that hit a ammo locker and triggered a massive chain reaction. The Vlaia had survived the battle as well but was way more damaged, the old ship had been targeted by several UG ships and had been trying to fight them off. The Glorious helped tow the battered Vlaia to the repair docks and then returned to the capital city, as it flew over the city the citizens cheered. The Glorious is now back in its dock, the Vlaia right next to her.
