1.) she’s grateful for what she has.
She knows Ellen didn’t have to continue running shadow hill after Alma’s dad passed especially since it was his stables, so she’s extremely thankful her mother decided to keep running it.

2.) though it’s not always obvious alma is constantly upset that she didn’t get to know her dad or even have a father figure growing up, As he passed when she was only two, because of this she tends to see a lot of older male figures in her life as either a father figure or an older brother.

3.) she’s a momma’s girl through and through, it was always just alma and her mom for a lot of her life, and because of that she’s always been Ellen’s “mini me” alma loves her mother and can often be found talking to her on the phone while she’s away at college.

4.) one of Alma’s biggest fears is losing both parents she never met her dad but losing her mother would probably send her off the deep end and would honestly cause her to lose sight of not only her dreams but herself as well. ( TOTALLY NOT FORESHADOWING DUN DUN DUN.)

5.) Though alma loves all of the horses her two main favorites are Wings and Amber. Wings was her first foal and is her “wing man” as she calls him and the stallion can often be found following her around if he isn’t harassing the staff for treats, and amber because she’s not only a great horse is general but is the foal of a great show horse.

6.) alma loves North Carolina but Texas is quickly winning her over especially because of the weather she likes the sun and North Carolina’s weather is too indecisive for her.

7.) She’s not planning on going big with horses like her mother was, or like her girlfriend is going to be in the western side. Alma is more content showing for fun and instead focuses a lot of her time becoming a vet.

8.) though she always seems bright and cheerful she actually suffers a lot from anxiety and depression and takes medication for it, both mental illnesses run in the family and she was had it since she was a child.
