Description Young Ms A talking:

I spent about five weeks in an intensive care unit for the mentally ill as part of a five month stint in 'the village'. I cannot disclose the location, but I have to say it was like living in a nightmare. These are what I made out of all the empty nicotine cartridges I had been given. The nurses, support workers and cleaners all knew that I had been hoarding these cartridges, whereas normally they would insist that I hand them in to be disposed of. This is the cigarette family. Everyone in this ficticious family is being poisoned.

That place... the place from which these characters immerged, made me feel so desperately unhappy and awful that I once put all 33 cartridges (or however many) into a cup, filled the cup with water and drank it without swallowing the pieces. That **** burns, I can tell you now. Its not just the smoke that kills you, it's the nicotine itself too.

Nicotene IS harmful. Vape pens, or so I was once told by an old friend of mine, are often owned by tobacco companies. They do not help most people quit. If you want to quit smoking, for goodness sake don't do it while you're already mentally unstable. The mentally ill have just as much of a right to harm themselves through poor choices as everyone else, surely? Psychiatrists think they can pump the mentally ill with horrible, tortorous drugs and then deny them that one sweet freedom of a hand rolled cigarette?

My point being, before I go off onto more tangents, is that this made up family expresses exactly how the nicotine made me feel - It helped me to forget that I was hundreds of miles away from family and allowed me to feel a little high I suppose, but that was it. In fact, on more than one occasion I'd get distracted and enhale too much and I'd be physically sick.

I'm trying to quit my various habits, it just takes time. I find it much more helpful to listen to the same song every time you smoke, so that song becomes played out and eventually you just stop, but that method is still to be fully researched I suppose. I'm full of theories but they're all dead ends. Thanks for reading.
