Personality: Cufflink is generally quite aloof and doesn't give very much of a fuck about...well...most things really. At least on a whole, non-personal level. For matters involving a smaller social sphere, he pays a little more attention, but often remains just as aloof as before. That isn't any of his business, usually, and he won't make it his. He is a very creative person who enjoys working with his hands and stitching sequences of sound or ideas together, and can get very passionate for the things which catch his interest. While he will throw himself entirely into a task he must perform, it is rare that he will lose himself in it, but if he does it will turn out spectacular. He has developed a bit of a 'big brother' complex for the 'black sheep' he encounters and is patient in terms of offering education and advice if it is sought of him - though he hardly expects people to come to him, and is always surprised if they do. He's very much someone who is blind to affections if directed to him, and you would need to hold a "I AM FUCKING INTERESTED IN YOU, DINGUS" sign in front of his face for him to realize it. He's quite level-headed and realistic, and does his best to keep a cool visage in a serious situation, but he can slip in to old habits and get particularly snarky, sarcastic, and cynical.
Bio: Having effectively raised his sister in lieu of MIA parents, Cuff has a particular feel of protectiveness about him for younger types and will deliberately seek them out - though it is unclear if this is a natural magnetism or choice on his part. He has never chased an education beyond a brief stint in a musical collegiate and does not intend to, feeling he is doing plenty well for himself with the knowledge he has...and besides, he has access to a library. Cuff has cleaned up his act in the years he's been operating on Earth, especially so since his sister has grown less dependent upon him. He still works at the Lackadaisy, a Jazz bar on the upper East end, now assimilated into New Daten City, and he still plays the piano there and tends bar. He's seen many faces come and go, and fulfills many of his social needs there when he isn't working as a translator for his sibling in the Headquarters. He has kept only a handful of the relationships he made when he first transferred to Daten for some reason or another, chief among them being Rosary , who he bonded with quickly over a shared interest in music - even if their tastes happened to be dramatically different, he appreciated the skill inherent to her focus just as well. He has had a sexual and intimate relationship with her - being a succubus and all - but has never considered it as anything past helping out a friend with what was necessary for her survival. He heavily side-eyes the political sphere of the current city, having had some very mixed opinions on the fall of the Angels a century back. Sure, he was glad to see his "team" winning, but something never sat right with him about the executions and effective genocidal action towards the opposing species. As Cuff has always been one to keep up to date on global news and social evolution, he has watched the change in New Daten with a keen eye, and never quite liked what he was seeing. Something in his instinct is telling him that Chapeau is mostly trying to normalize it to how it was, and that something about this isn't entirely her action. Call it a hunch. But regardless, he voiced his concerns to Rosary years ago, who guided him by hand to the same resistance she heard mumbles of before, knowing that he would keep their secret. He has been operating with them since, and has opened the doors of the Lackadaisy as a sort of "meeting ground" for resistance members, as congregating in Panic! would be more than a little suspect. But a hole in the wall bar on the upper East end? Nah.
He works very diligently to keep his public interaction with Panic! at an astronomical low - no matter how often he is in the station to assist with sound and blending code in to audio - to keep the skin on their back and their hands clean if the Lackadaisy is ever found out. After all, he still lives with Bangle, and she is very much on the opposing side. Balancing his life now is like walking on a forest of mushrooms without breaking any...but so far he's succeeding.
