Description
This image of Jupiter was created by Citizen Scientist Jackie Branc based on the red, green and blue filtered raw images taken by the JunoCam on February 3, 2024 from an altitude of 63284 km above the cloud top.I then sharpened the image and optimized the contrast, brightness and color.
It shows one of the two Folded Filamentary Regions (FFR) of the gas giant.
The FFR are chaotic and turbulent areas between the light brown band and the bluish polar region. They exist in both the northern and southern hemispheres of Jupiter.
