Description Cheyenne || Light Cruiser

A continuation of the Phase 3 doctrine, the Cheyenne is an arsenal meant to fulfil any role expected of a light cruiser. It's versatility is it's selling point, and that is evident in it's capabilities. Launched recently, it has a large and prosperous career ahead of it as one of the most capable light cruisers that the North American Federation has seen to date.

It's gun armament is a doctrinal shift to the single twin turret of the Halsey-Class, however it was a purposeful choice given it's multi-mission orientation. It could easily outgun and outshoot any rival light cruisers thanks to it's gun, a souped up positron cannon for more accuracy and power output, and the ship's sensor equipment giving it the best up to date situational awareness.

Additionally, the ship has a number of guided munitions for both offensive and defensive roles, including a massive array of anti-ship grenade launchers and VLS silos. All of which are enhanced by the ship's AEGIS PRIME integrated naval weapons systems, giving each weapon the ability to act independently or jointly if the situation required one or the other.

Furthermore onto it's already capable electronics, the Cheyenne posses heightened sensor arrays and sensory equipment in general, allowing it to act independently from a battlegroup or escorts. These systems include quantum computers for calculating and assessing threats from different angles and avenues of attack. It's specifically meant to counter ambushes that the ship might face, from threats residing to another dimension or a surprise strike from the Garmillas/Gatlantis SMITE teleportation system.

Other systems of the Cheyenne-Class includes a sensor fusion integrated data fusion system to coordinate, send and receive, encrypted information to the other assets of the fleet or allied forces. Additionally, the Cheyenne includes a General Electric Paesis-Type Dimensional Wave Motion Engine, along with three Kelvin Block IV Impulse Sub-light engines attached laterally on the engine cowling and below the ventral bow fin, and two Kelvin Block IV Mini-Impulse engines dorsally mounted aside the dorsal bow fin. Numerous RCS thrusters placed around the ship ensure great maneuverability with this speed, allowing it to outmaneuver it's enemies with ease. Despite all of this though, the cost remains relatively low for what it could give.

Thanks to the influx of demand and subsequent increase in production of modular pieces that fit onto Phase 3 ships, the Cheyenne's cost was severely watered down compared to what was predicted during development. This would allow the Cheyennes to be produced en-mass and take it's place as one of the most capable light cruisers within NAF's Space Navy, spearheading forward as the next-generation of light multirole cruisers. Cheyennes are the Swiss army knife of the fleet, able to do anything efficiently, and they will be a staple of the NAFSN for decades to come.
