Quor had been invited to join the other wynglings at the Chant to hear the word of Chii through Graw'falla. Yet once there, Quor could not understand the old gro's line of thinking. He preached about Chii'falla's light reaching into you and "fixing you". As if you were broken. He talked about magic being something to be feared, and that one should not practice it if "one does not obey the light of Chii'Falla.” Quor could understand having respect for magic and the harm it could bring. But could not understand restricting it to those that had the same beliefs as you. Graw went on to speak against the corruption of shadow magic, and how one "should never fall to the temptations of it," and how "any with marks of shadow magic will be punished for their sins." Quor knew he was talking about the features that gros develop after learning how to harness magic. He also knew that wynglings could be born with such features, inherited from their parents. "Does that mean that wynglings would be punished and hurt for what their parents did?" Quor thought to himself.
After the preaching was over Quor left and headed straight to the library. Checked out a book on the basics of water magic. Headed to the Nova tree to read in the sun. And made plans to learn magic his own way. Without the "guidance" from a gro, they had never met.
