When Que heard about the call for folk to learn magic to help The Grove, they immediately wanted to sign up for a class. Partly because the thrill of discovering magic was extremely enticing. But mostly because they had recently adopted a new arrival, Bog. As soon as they arrived at the place holding sign ups, they were interested in learning Chloromancy but when they saw a demonstration of water magic. They felt drawn, compelled, they had to learn water magic.

After receiving instructions and the magical stone, they found a partner and choose a seat. After they arranged the supplies to try and be safe. They reached towards the magic stone, and as soon as they touched the stone and focused. They inhaled and exhaled, and casted the magic. Snowflakes gently tumbling from their cold breath. After the first cast, they quickly grasped the way of the spell, and how to effectively utilize it. As well as becoming familiar with magic in general, and the way either moves through their phylacardia.

Their classmate, Annabelle, seemed to be having some difficulty with having more than a colder puff with her breath. Que offered to help. Trying to help by describing they way they felt while casting, after casting, and before casting. As well as the feeling of ether flowing through them, like water rushing to their mouth. Where it pools and crystallizes into ice. At least that’s what they feel. If that’s what literally happens, they aren’t sure.

But through it all, the two make all of the required shapes. And after getting the thumbs up from Suijin, they both succeeded this lesson. Que left the class, filled to the brim with excitement for the next week’s.
