Description
Last Edit :When I first heard and saw this contest, I was pretty excited about the journey it was going to be; for both my character, to develop his story and personality, but for me as well, to develop a more unique style and story when it comes to the Pokemon Genre.
To see that so many people, from whatever age group or background, was still so passionate about something that started with a simple red/blue/yellow and evolved into something so much more. It brought people together, gave a different insight about how the world could be, and more importantly; it made friends in a world that in reality, you're fighting. The fact that could happen is awesome.
But I'm pulling myself out of the competition, even before it really begins. Why?
I have morals as an artist.
For a creator of a competition to state he can be 'rude' or 'harsh' simply because he IS the creator, is absolutely appalling. I won't take part in something that's run this way since it's obviously not healthy for new artists or people who are just looking to better themselves.
I understand contests are hard, they're a lot of work, and they take a lot of time. It's no reason, and it's certainly not an excuse to take it out on the individuals trying their best to be in the project itself.
When I look for a contest, I look for ; originality, fun, and skill. To treat the artists as equals despite whatever background they may have and to help push them forward in any way possible, and to really inspire them.
I've seen quite a few contests and have been overly impressed with them. This one? It has unlimited potential, if the creator would be a little less power-hungry.
So until next time folks! Good luck with your own entries.
I hope another Pokemon Contest will pop up sometime in the near future! <3
Second Edit
When this was put up this way?
I've been officially kicked out of the contest. Not because of what I wrote here, but because I defended a new entry from a rather vicious statement. I said nothing mean, derogatory, or hurtful to the person. Stated my opinion, and left it at that. Apparently, opinions are overrated when they're not cardboard.
Needless to say, my point is very clearly proven.
