Description
An OC from a drabble I started on. A Skirmisher named Skal who happened to accompany a pack of Brutes on a mission that went badly. Because the Brutes were stranded, they rounded up the humans instead of outright killing them and kept them to eat. The Brutes also ate the Unggoy and began hunting the Kig-Yar for sport. Skal survived by eluding them for weeks, then led a raid to free his fellow Kig-Yar so they could take over a functional human vessel. At the same time, the UNSC arrived to rescue the prisoners, and a battle raged. Skal managed to break open the holding pen but was apprehended by the Chieftain and had his arm bitten off. The Chieftain was then killed by a sniper and Skal left for dead. He was taken prisoner by the UNSC and cared for by a curious professor who fashioned a mech arm for him. Skal developed dissociative memory disorder due to the trauma of having his arm chewed off and forgot most of his past.Haven't done much more than that, but thought I'd draw a pic of the poor guy.

This is an intersting idea for a character. One of my biggest complaints about Reach was that you never really connected with the Covenant, especially with the Skirmishers. I understand that it wasn't necessary for the main story, but something along the lines of the datapads would've been nice, like telling a story within a story from the Covenant's perspective.
Anyway, like I said, this is an interesting idea for a character. I've never seen someone actually take their time and focus on the Skirmsihers as much as this, so it's always nice to see that. I'd like to see this colored in the future.

While I was playing Halo Reach, I kept thinking "DANG these little buggers are awesome," because they jumped so high and looked like feathered dragons running around, lol. And they weren't annoyingly cowardly like regular Jackals. Actually FUN to fight!
