"Envy is the only sin which brings no pleasure!"

So, back when Queen Bee first dropped, there were a lot of attempts by fans to 'redesign' Beelzebub. Some of that was kind of negative, so I instead wondered about someone we've not even had mentioned yet - Leviathan, Deadly Sin of Envy!

This design is for a fic I have in progress, commissioned from the brilliant Kelza Pilkington (links below). I figured that as Leviathan is typically depicted as a sea-serpent, that should be the starting-point - but Vivzie also has each Deadly Sin represent a circus act, so I figured something like a magician or fortune-teller might be a good take for something as false and inward-looking as 'envy'.

Personality-wise, he's the opposite of Beelzebub; he's straight-up miserable, and only takes any joy from dragging others down with him. His one eye scries for any possessions which might bring the denizens of his Ring any semblance of pleasure, then has his Possession Inquisition retrieve it for his hoard - of course, he has no use for anything he seizes other than the knowledge that he deprived its owner of it. To that end, his own body is covered with deeds of ownership, the names thereon erased and replaced with his own.

Borderline paranoid and highly-sensitive to perceived slights, even Satan is more fun at parties - indeed, he is particularly sore about his lack of popularity compared to the other Sins, though is far too self-destructive to make the sorts of changes which might endear him more to his subjects. Thankfully, it's usually easy to tell when he's irritated - his rear talons tend to scrape and scratch at the backs of his shoes, gradually grazing away at the heel. If that happens, best not to lie to him; he has a penchant for reading minds, and tends to start any gathering of demons with a quick mental scan to check what everyone thinks of him. This is usually a self-defeating exercise, as it both encourages and confirms others' dislike of him, spiralling him into a bad mood from the outset. The worst thing one can do to annoy him is to wish Beelzebub had attended in his stead; he's quite fond of telling hellhounds that their 'Queen Bee' only treats them well because their vibes 'taste nice' to her, and is known to remark that he, too, could be as popular as her if he was willing to bed creatures lower than him...
