After the destruction of the Prometheus, the Deacon creature emerges from the chest of an unlucky engineer.

The creature itself is a mystery, a DNA mutation as a result of the black goo it's anatomy places it somewhere between a Neomorph and a Xenomorph.

but because of the Neomorphs appearance it is unlikely that the deacon will ever be acknowledged within the movie franchise again.
