History: Meadowlark Acres was started in 1979 by Blake Meadows and his wife Grace. The farm was first built for Mr. and Mrs. Meadows racehorses as a place for them to rest in the off season, but soon became a breeding operation in 1980. Meadowlark Acres, though small at first, started with such stallions as Razzmatazz, Court Jester, Calc & Trig, and Doyoutrustme. Even with such royal stallions , Razzmatazz won the Breeders' Cup Sprint and Court Jester had won the Preakness Stakes, Meadowlark Acres didn't climbing the sires lists untill 1996. A son of Razzmatazz  came out of nowhere in the Preakness to win  by three lengths over the Derby winner Vivieros. By the end of the his three year old season Vegas Glitz had the Preakness, Belmont and Breeders' Cup Classic on his résumé. Soon afterwards Meadowlark Acres jumped to the top of the breeder's list and has stayed there so far. Their stallions have sired the winners of such races as, The Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, Belmont Stakes, Vosburgh, King's Bishop, Pacific Classic, Florida Derby, Arkansas Derby, Illinois Derby, and Clark Handicap to name a few. Breeders' Cup wins include Juvenile fillies, Juvenile, Juvenile, Turf, Juvenile Turf, Distaff, Mile and Classic. Meadowlark Acres is now one of the top thoroughbred stud farms in the U.S. With such success now some stallions regularly travel south of the equator for their breeding season at major farms.
