Consider this my "December 18th because the Haruhi movie" picture this year....kinda. It's also a follow up to my Kyon McFly piece a while back, but this time with the second movie...which honestly, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya does kinda have parallels too.Think about it.
Both have their main characters enter an alternate timeline where their life and everyone around them is vastly different.
The cause of it is someone hijacking something to change time or reality (Whether it's Haruhi's powers or the Delorean)
...and both have the main hero time travel back in time to previous adventures to restore their own respective presents. With the help of a time traveler of course.
Hell, both Itsuki and Doc Brown share a similar scene explaining the alteration of timelines using lines as a demonstration.
