Description
Yesterday, we lost another SpongeBob legend, the voice of Barnacle Boy, Tim Conway. I've always enjoyed the Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy episodes as a kid, but as an adult that has gotten more into superheroes, I appreciate their characters so much more knowing that they were basically Aquaman and Aqualad if they were written like Adam West's Batman.ΒThough if there's any silver lining to this is....at least Barnacle Boy can finally reunite with Mermaid Man....
Rest in Peace, Tim Conway.

"EVIL!" will always be among my all-time favorite quotes from SpongeBob. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy will always have a place in our hearts thanks to the incredible Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway. May they forever rest in peace.

The only 2 humans in the show.

In the episode I saw, Spongebiob was causing trouble, so he sent out a mental command to the resisdents of the nursing home where he lived, and they carried SpongeBob away.Β

Sad considering Tim Conway was born 1933 and died 2019, but Stephen Hillenburg was born 1962 and died 2018

....His death (While REALLY sad) was months ago, and I was too busy with College work to do a tribute for him. That and I....didn't know what I could do for a tribute other than doing a journal and tweet about it.

As a less depressing explanation: Both these actors were already quite old when Spongebob came out. Stan Lee was waaay old and very successful. Finally, both Steven Hawking and Stephen Hillenburg (Creator of Spongebob) both had serious and terminal diseases. Hawking in particular lived FAR past what doctors expected to be even remotely possible.
It's just a sad coincidence that we're getting so many deaths in such a short time.

To elaborate on Hawking: they were starting to question whether it was actually ALS, because ALS should have killed him ~40 years before it actually did.
