Description
Forgive me if Gabriella and Ollie's anime designs look uninspired, but I thought this would be a wholesome mashup.A Silent Voice stars a deaf girl who uses sign language, and every fan knows about the iconic episode "Wish Upon a Starfish" that introduced the iconic Gabriella. Another character that uses sign language. Maybe American sign language, but sign language none the less.
Also....TV Tropes did point out some parallels A Silent Voice had to the original Little Mermaid story. Which says as follows...
- Nishimiya as the Little Mermaid . Both are young girls who have difficulty communicating with others due to their inability to speak properly. Nishimiya's favorite pastime is feeding koi fish which is related to the fish theme from the fairy tale. She also has romantic feelings for the male lead but faces difficulties from a female suitor who is more haughty and cold . And just like the mermaid in the original, Nishimiya tries to kill herself out of despair.
I think Shouko and Gabriella would be great friends teaching each other their own versions of sign language, with Shoya taking his own notes as well. I mean, it was fun coming up with their Koi-Mermaid designs.
