Description
Sorry, I have forgot to put the line-art hereI'm gonna tell you how I did this~briefly
took 4 and a half days for everything...
8-10 A4 sheets were used
aaaand lots of refreshments too
This Aquaman is a Mash-Up between cartoon TV series and New Comic book Version
I decided to put the beard from cartoon to emphasize his pride as the king of Atlantis
and a king looks better with a beard~!
this is Jim Lee's Aquaman...if you are not familiar with him!

First day I did the sketching plans for character. there was a controversy when the description said character and then character(s)...was not sure to put several in the picture. without taking risks I designed one character to be in the picture.
did sketches for Aquaman and Solomon Grundy...as Aquaman appeared to have a colorful background with lots of details and passion for beautiful sea life and cuteness...I decided Aquaman!
AQUAMAN IS THE ONLY DC CHARACTER IN THIS ENTRY! (the person in the right is just a random mermaid!)
Second day I started detailed drawing with pencil...the corals , the sea life...the killer whale baby, and the sea turtle...and Aquaman himself~ then I spent time to do the line-art slowly with my ball-point pen. took so much time as I had to make sure no mistakes were done. then I scanned every drawing to the computer to get prints of the line-art to use to test colors.
I also started testing colors for corals...it was a hard job as I don't color in my art life (I do pencil mostly)~
3rd day too I spent small time to decide the colors and then started coloring. I had to concentrate a lot bcuz it's hard to get a good result with just 12 pencils
4th day was spent entirely on colors...I managed to finish the corals...and it took so much time as I had to INVENT most of them myself! and adding different color patterns was a real challenge...somehow I got it done by night-fall,...
then I tested the sea colors several times and got the final result with pastels...as it was hard to get the contrast from color pencils...and also , the white color came in handy with reflections, waves and sunlight!
5th day was spent to assemble the drawings all together, the drawings were too huge to be combined and scanned (my scanner can only fit 1 A4, but each character was an A4 size~
I assure than photoshop was only used to combine the pictures...no effects were used.
the final outcome is what you see in the submission!
thank you all who took time to read this...I'm so grateful to you
this took so much effort and time...and I have so much hope this will atleast have a 3rd place~ but it's upto the judges.
anyway, I enjoyed taking part in this competition and I wanna wish all the entrants
