Description

Finally: The last old drawing I have to upload from my old account. This was drawn just a few months ago, on October of 2019. There are other drawings saved on my PCs, so I might upload those as well.

Original description:

"A parody of the famous "this is a bucket" scene from TF2's "expiration date". At some point during the past 2 months, I decided I should start drawing comics, and needed some practice. I anticipated this page would take a single week, or maybe two. This took far longer than expected though, and ended up taking a month. This is also my first time drawing a comic page, more or less.

There are a few reasons for this, but the biggest one was this: These past few months have been incredibly turbulent, both for my mental health as well as my life in general. I'm sure most people have a moment in their lives where they're faced with a set of big decisions on how to move forwards. Unfortunately, this past month was just that. This past month was also a living hell for me. The weather sucked. I lacked the mental fortitude to figure everything out without help. Yada yada yada, you get the point.

With all this said: Please do not worry about expressing concern over this in any way. I do not need (nor care much for) people's consolations to press forward with life. I didn't want to neglect mentioning this before hitting the "submit" button, but I also don't want this to compromise the description or the potential reception of this submission.

Anyways. That's about enough digression and lamentation over my life. That's not why you're here. You're here to read about the comic.

As said before: This comic is a parody of the "this is a bucket" quote/scene/meme from TF2's "expiration date". It's an idea I got about a month ago: I've never bothered drawing a complete comic page before, and I might want to do a major comic series of some kind (which I already have some well-planned ideas for) in the near-future. This led me to realize I needed some practice, both drawing comic pages and drawing pokemon. If you're wondering why two perfectly-normal-looking pokemon are seen talking in this page, it's basically because the big comic idea I'm practicing for takes place in the world of pokemon mystery dungeon. Of course: anyone familiar with the PMD series should know that all the pokemon in said series can talk.

There's also another major reason why this comic took so long. Notice anything unusual about the comic slowpoke places on the table? That's right: It's a copy-paste of this comic, which contains a copy-paste of this comic, which is implied to contain a copy-paste of this comic. It's an infinite sequence of comics within comics, which is basically part of the joke. Torchic is as shocked at the implications of the table comic as he is sarcastic. This detail is fairly subtle, but it took a lot of time to add. Although I am quite the perfectionist, using clipboard, the rotate/mirror feature, and the "I-warp" feature on GIMP; to add unshaded copies of the drawing; proved to be finicky and tedious. I'm probably not going to try that sort of gimmick again for a long time, since it wasn't quite worth it.

Anyways... I like how this turned out. I also hope to draw more comics like this in the near future. Thanks for viewing!"

With this final old submission now on my gallery, I can finally focus on uploading new submissions, and making new drawings to post here on this gallery. Hooray for that.
