Description
There are only a few things that really irk me, I guess Ahk shares those feelings. The entire piece was really difficult for me to lay out even though it's just a character shot and no background (I couldn't decide, so it's left empty). The anatomy for a taschevah isn't easy, ever, especially the pocketed wings, and it often takes me days to really figure out how each part plays against the others. To me, there are still mistakes, but that's all part of educating myself on how to fix them later and I pride myself on the effort I take to make them plausible to some degree.
I just want to say this. It's taken years to come to this point for me, it's taken years to play with their design, to make sure it all "fits" cohesively, that it works with the species. That it works for ME. Designing these guys takes a lot of effort, it takes a lot of studying, it takes a lot of re-doing, it takes a lot of my time and it takes a lot of my energy. It frustrates me when I've spent so much time on my designs when I have to deal with my fibromyalgia and frustrates me even more when I can't work on them at all. I work exceedingly hard to make taschevah what they are, they aren't simple creatures, they are meant to stand alone as their own, to stand out from the crowd, and to have something special about them.

Man, this rocks. I hear ya on the frustration, though. Thinking about workable anatomy is definitely time consuming....but awesome!

Yes, time consuming, sometimes insanely so. Thank you!

This is an amazing piece of art, I really enjoy how it looks.
I also suffer from fibromyalgia, so I really do understand how that goes. I wish that I could take all that pain away. I myself have to take lots of breaks because of the condition I am in as well.

Originaly I wanted to coment this art of yours...but the commentary under it catched my eye. I thought frustration is "normal" for every artist and very common.
But then I watch deeper into your profile and found out what is the background of this (and now I notice that you mention fibromyalgia even here, but I didnΒ΄t know what it is).
Taschevah is indeed capable to stand out from the crowd, beacuse of their amazingly interesting design with plenty of details. And this made me to fave your art.
At this point, you polished taschevah nearly to itΒ΄s perfection. For some reason, black and white really suits it (maybe beacuse all those tiny details are visible).
I know you are doing your best to show your skill - let me say something to you; you donΒ΄t have to persuade others that you are doing your best (even if you find it isnΒ΄t perfect, but thatΒ΄s good - great way to improve yourself!). They see you are doing your hardest to achieve your goal, what is visible from their comments
ItΒ΄s amazing how far you improved even with your condition (how much debilitating and painful it is, i canΒ΄t imagine at all!). You made this far, you will make it even further. It isnΒ΄t easy, but IΒ΄m convinced you can do it.
I wish you a lot of imagination, skilled hand and good luck!

*close hugs* Swandog mentioned you have it too.
wingsnugs all around for angsting gryphs and dragons, God knows you aren't whining
I hope you feel better, I pray you get the treatment and support you need and I am so, so sorry because I am not even kidding I saw your icon/link on a piece of art while browsing and wanted to ask you how you manage because I don;t know if I'll have to switch from working at a desk to an easel with how bad my should and neck pain can get and now even my arms and legs just ACHE lately, like I'm bruised all over.
I'm...so sorry, I just wish there was something I could do other than say I understand..... sometimes it helps just to know you aren't alone though I'm sure like me you'd never wish it on a soul even if it "made" them understand somehow.

Thank you for understanding, though I wish to hear better, no one should have to suffer from this condition, as you agreed with.
I am managing with pain killers, which has been helping and I'm learning my limits. My rheumatologist has me on flexeril/cyclobenaprine (muscle relaxant) and tramadol (pain killer). The tramadol I now tend to take on a daily basis, several times a day if necessary, and muscle relaxers to sleep at night or if I'm just having a really stressful day. If I know my day is going to be busy I preemptively take both pills and make sure to continue taking at least the tramadol throughout the day. It's helped more than not having them at all even if I still hurt, it's not nearly as bad.
I wouldn't use an easel, if you're like me and you get the same kind of pain in your arms and shoulders, your arms will tire and hurt worse working on an easel. I tire out quickly just brushing my hair or my teeth, washing my hair is hard enough for me to do without needing to take breaks.
I have to manage my work the same way I have to manage washing or brushing my hair, I draw, then take breaks as soon as I am feeling pain or my arm wears out. I'd get nothing done otherwise. It's extremely frustrating since I use to work long hours on a single piece and now I can't work but about an hour or two at a time, then take an hour or more break. I basically have to apply this to anything I do, and it gets really old really quick. So, my suggestion would be to take frequent breaks if you can and just take your time. <3

I thnk you've succeded beautifully.
It's awesome that you put so much care and thought into your species design, and also into each drawing. Not everyone does that, but it's what sets your work apart.

Mistakes are for learning, if you never make mistakes how shall you ever learn?
I personally find it extremely fun to make a new creature and figure out how the hell everything works and goes together in sense of anatomy and that they won't be to powerful in their world. Yes, there is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS times when creature design annoys the living hell out of you and you toss them across the room going "UGH!" but... then they sit there and taunt you, calling your name going "What's wrong? Am I to hard for you? Come on finish me I dare you!" and then you learn something cool about your own skill, knowledge, and even with a creature you've worked on for months, and years, then you get the satisfaction of laughing at it and going "I won!" Even if that's what was intended all long!
So I hope these drawings always give you some fun and hopefully one day you can punch you're fibromyalgia in the face and tell it to kiss your ass!
Wow that was a lot more words then when I was expecting... Sorry for the ooze lol

I know your feeling ahk :< though not what it must be to struggle with your fibro. For what its worth I think the taschevah are one of the most unique and fully fleshed out species kicking around DA you put so many details into them that are clever and unique. The internet however is full of idiots who can't appreciate the little things and take the whole at face value. This is not a reflection of your work, only a lack of depth in their viewing.

And I think all that effort has really paid off. I can always pick a taschevah out of a crowd so to speak. As always love the anatomy.

I have been following your work for years, probably ever since I first started drawing, and aside from all of the challenges of problems you've run into, you have most definitely reached your goal. Taschevah are all beatiful and unique, and I love seeing each one that you make. May you continue past your goal to even greater heights, Hannah. God bless and merry Christmas as well :>

You did a fantastic job, too.
I think it's downright amazing that you've literally created a species all on it's own, with anatomy that actually makes sense. It's truly impressive.

I love the taschevah species so much. Drawing them is a treat for myself, and I really appreciate that you've made them an open species. I've been following you for a few years and have seen the effort you really do put into the species and it has really shown in your work.
