I find it kind of neat how making it into three different shapes actually makes it simplier. Then making it more rounded more-so. Seeing those three things across the top makes me think I can better figure out where to go when I try making logos. In the past, I'd come up with something a little similar to the first one, then not be able to figure out how to make it simplier.

definitely improvement from your original hummingbird logo very modern and smooth. I think the red and gold both have their advantages, but i think there needs to be a shadow or darker color on the beak of the hummingbird :/ yellow and white has same values so the beak far away gets lost into the 'paper' so to speak. The shadows are heavy on the right for obvious light source, but i think there should be a balance for the beak.

My opinion though
