He was the Lord of Darkness, the ruler of the underworld, the enemy of all that is good. He had been banished from heaven, along with his rebel angels, for defying God. He had sworn to take revenge, and to corrupt and destroy God's creation. He had taken the form of a demonic figure, with horns and a beard, to inspire fear and awe. He had gathered his legions of demons, and prepared to wage war against the forces of light. He had risen from the depths of hell, and flew over the snowy landscape, under the crescent moon.
