Very cool shot. You've captured the texture of his skin very well and the focus is spot on.
I quite like the b&w too - it really brings out the skin texture and makes this shot stand out from other chameleon photo's.
His head feels slightly too centred to me...I think I'd prefer a little more space on the left side. But that's just me.

The B&W works really well. It gives you very good subject separation from the background.
The depth of field looks perfect. You have the face, and especially the eye, in focus. There is also a catch light.
I like the composition. The thirding works well. It is also a good action pose, like the chameleon is about to strike.
