This particular muzzle/face mask that the doctors made Jeff wear has a built-in feeding/breathing tube that extends from the grilled mouth opening to the back of the mouth/throat ( INSPIRED BY: www.deviantart.com/shennanigma… & www.deviantart.com/mayflower90… ). This allows the wearer to breathe normally and the doctors to easily administer medicines and pills to Jeff while allowing his " smile " facial scars to heal since he can't rip the stitches out by moving his mouth around. However, it also impedes his ability to speak and even forces him to choke on his own bile. That combined with the leather strap around his neck/throat makes it more than uncomfortable to wear.
The doctors don't realize that this muzzle is causing Jeff to choke to death.
