Description
The Dark FaerieRain pattered against our bedroom window, and lightning lit up the midnight blue sky. The sky was void of stars as it was covered by angry clouds. The wind howled as it rushed across the whole castle, making it shake, and the thunder roared angrily at the same time lightning ran across the sky, making it look like the sky was about to crack open. “I’m getting a bad feeling about tonight, babe”, I said as I looked out our bedroom window. “Why do you say that?” My husband asked. I turned towards him. Nikolai had dark hair matched with dark facial hair ringed around his mouth. He had brown-green hazel eyes that sparkled whenever he smiled. “This storm just doesn’t feel natural,” I said. I turned to look out the window once more. The lightning struck the sky as thunder roared, and that’s when I felt a warm gush of liquid run down my legs, making a bloody puddle on the floor by my feet. Sharp stabbing pains ran across my stomach as thunder roared again. I ghtly held onto the windowsill with my left hand as my right one held onto my stomach. I breathed in and out as my stomach contracted for a long minute. “Go get the midwives, the baby is coming!” I said as I turned towards my husband again. His eyes bulged out of his head in panic. “Argh! Go Nikolai now!” I yelled as I was hit with another contraction. Nikolai got his wits together and ran out of the room. While waiting for him to return with the midwives, I slowly moved toward our king-sized bed. I climbed on the bed and sat on my hands and knees. I felt an urgent pull at the bottom of my stomach as I was hit with another contraction, in that instant, I knew I had to push.

“Argh!” I screamed as I pushed, I rested my head on the pillow to catch my breath. “I don’t know if I can keep doing this, I’m so tired,” I said while panting. “The baby is almost out, you have to push one more @me, you can do this,” one of the midwives said. I nodded and pushed as hard as I could and for as long as possible. I had sweat dripping down my forehead and ran out of air. Then a piercing beautiful cry hollered through the night. I let my body relax as I fell flat on the bed. My eyes were closing when the bedroom door slammed open. “Babe, something happened,” Nikolai said as the castle shook, and thunder roared unnaturally loud. I sat up in alarm. “What is happening?” I asked. “It’s the dark Fae, he’s come to take the palace,” Nikolai said. My eyes grew wide in panic, and I quickly looked at my baby. “Hand me, my baby, quickly,” I said. The midwife holding my baby, gently placed her into my arms. I looked down at my daughter and smiled sadly. I gently placed a kiss on her forehead. “May Aine bless, protect and guide you,” I silently prayed to the goddess on behalf of my daughter. “Okay, take her away, do as we planned, and don’t stop unl she is safe,” I said to one of the midwives. My precious daughter was taken out of my hands at that moment; that was the last @me I saw her. With blood still running between my legs, I stood up, grabbed my sword and shield, and stood next to my husband, awaiting the dark faerie.
