this is the codex book from assassin's creed 2. it was the personal journal of altair, scattered into scrolls by subsequent assassins and reassembled by ezio auditore into a bound book.

the codex was actually published and released by ubisoft in a limited edition version of assassin's creed: brotherhood. an awesome leather bound book, it contained the original artwork used to make the codex scans in the book...but remarkably inaccurate.

i sought to make a better one, but i needed the real pages first, so i got them off of wikia, and...on a hunch, i thought i'd search DA to see if i could find any high rez in game photos of the codex pages or the ornature used.

to my (not really overwhelming) surprise, someone had beat me to the punch and done a PHENOMINAL job with the recreation, including improvements i would not have thought to make.

for example the text in the real codex is in english..however altair, being an arab, would have written in arabic, so BB made the font an arabian font and retyped it all. very slick move. this is far superior to the one u get w/ the superpack minus the badass cover they provide.

id love a leather embossed/stamped cover, but the one in the superbox is black..very unrennaissance, it would have to be ornated red/brown leather with a binding strip tie around it as most traditional bindings were of the time.

but i dont have that ability, so i printed them on parchment paper, double sided one set, single sided another set. i had my local office depot COVER BIND my booklet, and crop to full bleed. i cropped the full bleed single sided as well, incase i wanna throw them up on the wall ezio style.

all in all the pinting and binding should be less than 40 bucks. office depot has great 40% off coupons all the time its a good solution to staples doing nothing ever.

this is a fantastic solution to picking up a very rare and expensive real codex. i hate that they ruined it w/ excessive pages in the back, i just wanted a codex, and BBLEGEND helped me accomplish that, i hope u take advantage of this deviant's hard work and make ur own.

one day i'll get a ballin cover for this and update my deviation, till then here is the link to the pages:
