Description
This is my drawing of Punguari from The Casagrandes Movie. I had talked about her in a journal I had made when I saw the movie, though I feel I may not have done that much Justice and maybe even made some mistakes in there, maybe a few corrections of mistakes. But yeah, here's my take on drawing the film's Antagonist of sorts, the 12,000+ year old Mexican Demigoddess of the Moon, who wanted to be a full fledged Goddess, using her father's Sun Staff that open doors to Bikini Bottom or O Town to get access to the Mask of Many Faces to make her the full god, despite her mothers' warnings and not yet being ready, unleashing a calamity that would lead to her being turned into a Mountain and then Ronnie Anne accidentally releases her 800 years later from a whipeout while skating on her mountain and accidentally uncovering a magic gem from an overpriced trinket, and once again, I've explained most of this not long before, but you get the gist of it, she uses her spirit to trick Ronnie Anne to take her to the mask and traps her in the room, we learn, she's not really evil, just a kid who was kind of selfish and went too far to do her own thing (though she may have been a little callous or sinister when she was tricking RA), and that her imprisonment was actually to protect her from Ucumu, whom she had accidentally released, but she and Ronnie Anne and the Casagrandes fight to fix it, and I'm explaining details I already explained again. Well as it would turn out, I do really like this character, she's really funny and adorable, and as mentioned in the journal, she has some cool powers, like her moon goddess thing and her shapeshifting into a coyote or owl or moth swarm, she has that cool moon staff, and her and Ronnie Anne fighting Ucumu was pretty cool, and what I'm trying to say is, I may actually be considering making her one of my new official favorite characters, which would be funny for a couple of reasons, one I already went that route with the Antagonist of The Loud House Movie, two, I had also been considering a moon goddess character from a different series, you may have an idea who it might be, especially given an update of my A to Z Moon Characters meme had some other updates in addition to Punguari, and third, I feel like a lot of my new favorites have happened to be Hispanic, lately, there are even couple potential ones I have not decided who would also be that, is that weird? ...and 4th, this would be the 4th Casa Loud Character to become an official favorite, and the jury is still out on if I can make Luna the 5th in that case. 5th, she would be another argument on me being drawn to purple themed characters. But yeah, I have a good feeling about Punguari and the more I started thinking after the fact and looking at fanart and posts of her, I kind of soon came to the epiphany that she may be becoming a new favorite characters, It's reminding me of my HSK days when I suddenly started seeing the potential in Zoe. I also saw Miguel Puga had a plushie of her as a Coyote that really makes me wish it was released as official merch. Had a heck of a time drawing her, that's for sure, her design has a lot going for it, and and I had to go through quite a couple of references, and in one it had an "ambidextrous sprite issue where some elements were on the wrong side, much like the time I tried drawing Zombie Ronnie Anne, but I managed to fix that soon enough. I was also unsure how to do her eyes, as they are a bit different looking, I eventually resolved on the normal eyes with heavy eye shadow, but I kept a different version in as an alternate, though I am attached to the one I decided on. I may also have some issue with her teeth, she has the buck teeth with a notable gap in them, sometimes we mostly the bucked part and then there's one time she's making a fake smile where all her teeth are more pronounced that gave me an idea on how they're supposed to be, and I feel like how I drew it is a mix of that, though the buck teeth part may look a little off. As I was posting this It came to mind that she had a luminescent aura because of her divinity, so I spent a lot more time trying to add that in, and noticing some small mistakes I overlooked along the way. So anyway, here's to my possible newest favorite character.
