Description A fanart for the Tiffany Aching trilogy (Discworld Yound Adult novel) by Terry Pratchett.

I've always wanted to draw the Nac Mac Feegle, and I'm relΓΆieved they turned out quite ok XD

Wonder how the "Wee Free Men", coming in 2010, will turn out...?

With your style it makes me wonder what Studio Ghibli could do with a story like this?

Keep up the art,

I love this! Wonderful job on Tiffany and all the other characters, especially the Nac Mac Feegle. And then there's Mrs. Treason, and Granny Weatherwax, and Nanny Ogg... OMG it's Horace! I just noticed him! Well anyway, it looks really good. I like how it looks anime but still resembles the characters in the book. Awesome piece!

Reminds me of Kiki, another little witch going on her own... of course battling the queen of the fae was never really in the anime film

Me too, I was reminded of Miyazaki's Kiki when reading the Tiffany Aching series - there must be some common source to it, I suppose - maybe medieval European witches learned their trade in such "internships"?

No, nothing in my cultural memory points to that. Of course all other professions of the time were run that way, everything from blacksmith to farmer. But of course, it'd usually be your own son going into the trade.

In an attempt to legitimise the magical witchcraft, I guess they have to come up with the methods that would allow one to become a witch.

Lovely! (Do you know that for a minute I actually failed to recognize Horace? Aiyee!)

Did you see today's Cake Wrecks (Sunday Sweets), where the last kids'-book cake is about this series? I'm still squeeing over all the little details. [link]

I hear it's not going to be made. If it were, perhaps someone could try to get it directed by Hayao Miyazaki or something. I really like the drawing (in fact it's what made me think about Wee Free Men being directed by Miyazaki)
