I still despise the character for his heartlessness. He murdered his brother, who was willing to spend the rest of his adolescent years in prison for Jeff's actions. He loved Jeff.

But the thing is, if he ever did recover his sanity, do you think he would be able to live with himself knowing he slaughtered his family, along with countless others?
Some people stay insane and evil because they can't take the guilt. It would destroy them.

I understand that you don't like the character of Jeff, but it wasn't his fault that he killed his family. It was the bullies' faults, they taunted Jeff and Liu and nearly killed them both. Jeff never meant to murder his parents and brother; the Feeling got too strong and took over his senses, and he couldn't re-gain his control until it was too late.. I feel bad for Jeff, he's criticized way too often. Sure, his face is kind of creepy-looking, and he's a serial killer, but he's still human...

Not anymore. His humanity burned along with his face. The human part of him was destroyed.
Did you ever hear of the most popular backstory for the Joker? He fell into a vat of chemicals, which bleached and burned his skin, like Jeff.
When he took off the helmet he was wearing and looked at his reflection, well...

Neither one of them can get back their sanity, mostly because they don't want to anymore. They're having too much fun.
But if something like this picture describes ever happened, of Jeff missing his family... The anguish and guilt would be too much, knowing what he's done, that he can never, ever get them back and knowing it's his fault. His life is gone.
So what can he do? Get help, commit suicide, or drown in his insanity so he never has to feel anything ever again.
Those are the only three options he has, and knowing him, he's most likely to sink back into madness. Besides, people obviously want him to stay as a murderer.
I'd love it if he could be cured, but I don't envy the burden he'll have to carry for the rest of his life. If he could carry it and stay sane, then I'd be impressed.
But how do you fix his face?
