My second attempt experimenting with pastels in my Drawing II course, the assignment required the use of complementary colors. I was pressed for time, so I quickly sketched out the sparse still life and began applying color in rough strokes. With my limited set of pastels and the added restriction of the assignment, the colors I was forced to use generated a bold and vibrant look that surprised me. I really enjoyed working on this piece, as I was able to let go of my perfectionistic side for a change; the "messy" look might be the perfect style for me!--------------------------
