Description
Other random things- The length of the foot from the tip of the toes to the heel is the length of the forearm! (try it on yourself)
- Slightly lengthening the legs makes a character look taller; Likewise, short legs and a long torso makes a character look shorter.
- Be sure to keep the proportions in mind even when you're drawing a sitting character! It's very easy to make the legs too long.
I think the "What not to do" part of this is more useful than the other side, since the stuff I talk about have been repeated over and over again in anatomy books and other tutorials.
Part two coming.. I don't know when!

Thanks for not deleting it. It's kinda bothering that lots of people "hide" under the style thing. Also, You're just pointing mistakes, not cursing or making fun of them, so I don't see how it's insulting. Again, Thank you u.u
I just have to ask... What is "figure drawing"??

One of my new years resolutions to myself is to stand up for what I believe in hahah;; I'm just trying to do that in a small way. (:
Another word for it is "lifedrawing", where basically you are drawing from photographs or from a real life model in order to study how the body is structured. It's crucial for things like animation!!

Ohhhhh I get it now I do that from stock photos
Is that (like on movies) When a model enters, gets naked and just poses and the stufent(s) have to draw it??? If so... Do all of them have to be naked or you can tell them to wear underwear or a bodysuit???

Whaddaya know, I think saying what NOT to do might actually be more effective than it seems in retrospect. Thanks!

This is really helpful! ♥ I usually draw hands smaller than it really should be, but I mess it up when I try to make them bigger. Even when I do know it's almost as big as the face. The long legs used to be a problem as well. I think most of the not to do here are my mistakes. Q 3 Q
Thank you for the enlightenment. ♥

Haha I know I'm being perverted for asking this buttttttttttt...... can you make a tutorial on how to draw.... breasts?..... I KNOW I KNOW I"M SORRY IF I"M ASKING!!! Its just that I mainly draw female and I'm trying my best to make them pretty and attractive.... I'm really tired of drawing them looking flat or very small and semi deformed l looking breasts. You seem to draw a lot of girls with different sizes and the fact that you are one............. GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I'm sorry for asking I'm a guy and I been wanting to draw pretty woman for a long LONG TIME! I want to make them prettier! Or.... sorry...................... should I ask someone else?

This is a very good tutorial for drawing them! I think the most important thing is to understand the placement (they are not connected to the collarbone, like many people seem to draw them..), the shape (they are not spheres!!), and that they are affected by gravity!
Good luck (:

I agree, the "what not to do" suggestions are definitely more useful! o: There's so much to learn about anatomy and proportions, but by making a list of what NOT to do really shortens the amount of information we need to take in. Thanks so much for writing this!

I'm glad you find it useful! (:
Haha I totally know what you mean! I think anatomy and the portrayal of the human body is something that is really fluid within different styles of art but at the same time there are just some things that absolutely don't look right (placing the navel at the ribcage, for example...) Understanding the forms is definitely the most important though!

This is super helpful, and I laughed so hard when I saw the anime/manga examples with the too long legs, small head and yaoi hands. XD
